Timothy M. Brouse, P.E. is the founder and Principal Engineer of Alta Design Associates, Inc.
Mr. Brouse's areas of expertise include architectural engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction claims analysis, construction inspection, stormwater management, subdivisions and land planning, bridge design and repair, critical path management (CPM) scheduling, computer aided drafting (CAD), and computer generated multimedia production.
He has been involved with the design of residential custom homes and renovations, high-rise structures, dams and ponds, hospital facilities, schools, interstate roadways, bridges, oil refining facilities, athletic facilities, and subdivision planning.
He has also participated in the analysis, presentation, and resolution of construction claims on many international projects including a U.S. Embassy, lock and dam systems, interstate roadways, bridges, resorts, oil platforms, and entertainment facilities.
His training and experience in the fields of architecture and engineering, combined with natural artistic talents, make Mr. Brouse an innovative designer and a cost conscious project manager. These skills are ideal for planning, analyzing, and presenting complex concepts in the boardroom, courtroom, zoning and planning board meeting, or through Internet communications.
During his internship, Mr. Brouse performed analysis as a Geotechnical Engineer for SITE-Blauvelt Engineers, Inc. He was also a Construction Inspector and Field Engineer at one time. Thus, Mr. Brouse is well versed in soils, exploratory drilling, deep drilled and driven foundations, shallow foundations, structural geology, geophysical explorations, pre-stressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, cast-in-place concrete, asphaltic concrete, masonry, structural steel, roofing systems, and finish coatings. Mr. Brouse also edited and managed the metrication and re-write of several PADOT geotechnical manuals, while working with SITE-Blauvelt Engineers.
Mr. Brouse then spent several years working with Trauner Consulting Services, and Capital Project Management, Inc. where he gained an in-depth knowledge of forensic engineering, CPM scheduling, and construction claims analysis. His services were then utilized by Associated Engineering Consultants, Inc. where Mr. Brouse worked in the structural engineering department. This allowed him to gain a detailed understanding of wood construction, structural steel systems, composite concrete/steel slabs, cast-in-place structural concrete structures, masonry structures, foundation systems, and vertical/lateral load analysis.
Since founding Alta Design Associates, Inc. in 1998, Mr. Brouse has been using his education and practical experience to prepare architectural and civil engineering designs to prepare drawings and reports for projects including but not limited to: new homes, residential additions, commercial buildings, schools, site surveys, swimming pools, pool houses, landscape architecture, stormwater management systems, ponds, dams, retaining walls, and recreation facilities.
Mr. Brouse has performed services for clients such as PADOT, VADOT, FDOT, US Navy, US Air Force, US Army Corpes of Engineers, Coca-Cola, SUN Refineries, Disney Development Corporation, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Widener University, Temple University, The University of Pennsylvania, Lane Montessori School, Eastern College, AO North America, Charles E Hess Jr. Landscape Architects, and Armond Aquatech Pools.
Mr. Brouse is a graduate of Drexel University where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Florida, and Vermont.
